The two kits that I bought. The one on the left is factory sealed and complete. The one on the right is the box only and is the kit I will be building on this blog.

Greetings ~

I've been building scale models for over 60-years. I have a bunch of kits that I have gotten from many sources. This is one of them. I bought two Coca Cola trucks from my son who deals in vintage toys, model kits, etc. Actually, I bought one that is complete and factory sealed and he threw in the other which is only the truck's box. Someone had used the truck cab, frame and tires but had left the cargo box and that's all that is left to the kit. The other thing is that this is a French kit. The instructions are written in French. Now, I did take French in school. But that was, again, 55 to 60-years ago and I have never used it so the only thing I remember is counting from 1 to 10 and, of course, I can say "wee wee" when needed. That's all! So these instructions are completely foreign to me. But pictures cover all language barriers. After all, the only time I have ever said, "wee wee" was at the ages of 2 to 4 years old telling my mother I had to pee.
I thought at first that I may build the complete truck kit and then build this box and create a "piggy-back" set up. But then I decided to build the box alone and make it as a car storage unit. Many moons ago, I had a actual truck box that I used for one of my real antique cars and it worked well. I have seen others who put their extra cars in old truck boxes that they had bought for that purpose. So I thought that a scale model display of a truck box with a scale model car in it would be cool. Something different. After all, what else would I use only the box for?
So, this blog is about my building this truck box for that reason. So let's get started.
